Coaching

Are you looking for coaching services for your organisation? Click here to see how I can support you.

Coaching with me gives you a confidential, non-judgemental space to talk through what you’re experiencing, and work through it bit-by-bit.

Are you feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed about work?

Maybe this is a sudden spike, or maybe it’s been building up for a while.

You might be feeling tense and full of adrenaline. Or feeling flat and exhausted.

You might be feeling a bit wobbly, and lacking in confidence.

Perhaps you’re wondering if there’s something wrong with you (there isn’t).

You might not really know how you feel. But you know that this isn’t what you want.

Wherever you’re at right now, you don’t have to navigate it on your own.

I’m here to help you feel less stressed and anxious about work, and find more balance, confidence, and enjoyment.

Coaching with me will help you to:

  • Understand what’s actually going on for you

  • Identify what’s driving and sustaining it

  • Explore the change you’d like to see, based on what’s important to you

  • Discover ways to get there that make sense for you

  • Break things down into manageable steps and experiments

  • Gain more clarity and confidence

  • Learn tools, habits and strategies to sustain yourself going forwards

  • Feel more supported, and less alone in what you’re experiencing

“I have no doubt that my regular coaching sessions helped me deal with everything better. They allowed me to talk through what was happening for me and make sense of it, so I could move forward with more clarity and confidence. The sessions also kept me motivated and gave me a sense of momentum.”

“Heather is fantastic. She's been super helpful in getting to the root of my internal struggles and really helps me by talking through the various elements. The sessions give me a lot to think about every time but also provide me with a lot of energy that is so valuable.”

“I feel better able to cope, with some strategies and exercises both to proactively address my mental attitude, and to explore what I love to do and what motivates me. I’m able to leave that hour slot feeling clearer, and like I've given order to the chaos that was taking up my attention and energy.”

Hi, I’m Heather.

I’m a coach and psychologist, and the founder of Mind & Co.

I help professionals who are feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed about work, to feel more balanced, confident and energised. I work with organisations and individuals, offering coaching, courses and workshops.

I use a combination of Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Techniques and Person-Centred approaches in my work. (If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry - you don’t need to! But you’re welcome to look it up if you’re curious.)

I’m often described as calm, empathetic and gently challenging. I love my work, and want to help others to feel that way too. You can learn more about me and my experience here.

My approach

Our conversations will recognise the capable, intelligent person you are (even when you don’t feel like one). As your coach, I’m not here to have all the answers. I’m here to help you find your own insights, confidence, and next steps you need to move forwards.

I will listen without judgement. I’ll avoid making assumptions, and won’t jump in with advice. Instead, I’ll reflect back what I’m hearing, and ask you questions to help you explore your experience and gain insights.

As we get to know each other better, I might offer up psychology-based concepts or exercises that come to mind as we talk. These are only ever an offer of ideas - you can take whatever feels useful for you right now.

Our sessions give you dedicated time, headspace and support to work through your challenge. I’ll encourage you to prioritise this time for yourself, because I know first-hand how hard that can be.

We’ll create a space where you can feel safe and supported to explore things more deeply, getting to the root of your challenge and what you truly want instead.

Most of all, our conversations will support and empower you to find your own way of moving forwards. We can flex our sessions and plans to make that happen.

“You couldn't have been better. You were challenging when needed but always enabling me to grow. You were particularly good at playing back what I say, and therefore how I think. This has been a big, big thing for me. I’ve learned about myself, and learned to be kinder to myself. I am different as a result, healthier but with the same level of performance or better. I have certainly learnt a lot and have a fire under me to learn so much more.”

“I’ve just completed my first six sessions with Heather and her support has been invaluable. I was feeling very overwhelmed and didn’t know how to move forward. Heather helped me talk through how I was feeling, clarify my thinking and kept me moving forward. She was patient and supportive throughout but also challenging when she needed to be. Some of my biggest insights came when she took me out of my comfort zone and really challenged my thinking.”

“In the early days I often had moments of wanting Heather to give me answers or point me in a specific direction. Instead, her careful questioning helped me explore my own path and find my own answers, insights and breakthroughs - this approach has proven more valuable than I could have imagined. The work we did around themes that crop up in my thinking and behaviours has changed the way I view myself and my life permanently.”

How it works

  • We start with a free, no-strings-attached intro call, to help us see whether coaching with me is a good fit for you and where you’re at. We can also run through any questions you might have.

  • If we both think it’s a good fit and you decide to go ahead, I’ll send you everything you need to get started and book your first session.

  • Our coaching sessions are online, run on Zoom. When you book a session, you’ll be sent a calendar invite with a Zoom link.

  • You can buy a package of sessions, or book them on an ad hoc basis. See the options below.

  • In each session, we’ll start by checking in on what you’d like to explore, and finish up by confirming your key takeaways and any actions. In the middle, we can take the conversation wherever you need it to go.

  • We’ll check in on the coaching process and logistics as we go along, to make sure you’re getting what you need.

“You really helped me to better understand some of my behaviours, and then come up with tools and techniques to help with them. 6 months or so on, many of them really have stuck and continue to help! I feel like I have a toolkit at my disposal. The sessions were truly so valuable.”

“A big part of my coaching journey was realising that there was more to life than my then-employer. That encouraged me to move jobs and, while some old habits persisted, I'm onto a much healthier journey. Heather really helped me think about me and my life in the bigger picture.”

“I came to coaching because I was experiencing anxiety, work stress, burnout and a lack of confidence. I’ve experienced an overall lift in my positivity toward work. It's helped change my mindset, and made me enjoy the process and journey of getting to where I want to be in my life.”

FAQs

  • Everyone’s needs are different, but I tend to recommend at least six sessions to achieve significant change.

I offer the option to buy blocks of sessions as part of a coaching package, or to book sessions on an ad hoc basis. Coaching packages help me plan my workload and income, so you save roughly 10% booking this way. Monthly payment plans are available for these at no extra cost.

You’re welcome to set an intention for how many sessions you’d like at the beginning of our work together, or you can leave it open. It’s up to you.

Either way, we’ll check in as we go to make sure you’re getting what you need.

  • I recommend having sessions every 1 or 2 weeks in the beginning to build momentum. Some clients then choose to have less regular sessions later in their coaching journey. We’ll check in on session spacing as we go along.

  • Absolutely. I'm happy to support you with both work and life areas. In my experience, they're never truly separate!

A typical coaching conversation often covers both work and other areas of life.

You decide the focus of our sessions, so we can explore topics outside of work, or stick to inside of work. Whichever is most helpful for you.

  • There can be, but there doesn’t have to be.

Some people find ‘homework’ gives them structure and a sense of momentum between sessions. Others prefer to just have time to reflect.

I offer a coaching tracker as part of my package. This includes some simple reflection questions for before and after each session.

We can talk about what might be best for you, and adjust as we go.

  • Potentially, yes. I work both with organisations and directly with individuals. If you haven’t already, it might be worth exploring whether your employer will fund your coaching sessions.

Note that I charge employers higher fees than individuals. This helps me keep coaching accessible for those who don’t have access to it through their workplace.

We can go through this in more detail over email or on our intro call if needed.

  • The short answer is yes. I will always do my best to keep your data safe and confidential. This includes your contact details and anything you share within a session or over email. The only time this confidentiality will be broken is if I believe there is a risk of harm to you or to others.

This is still the case when your employer is funding your coaching sessions. I would only ever feed back themes that I am seeing across numbers of employees, rather than anything about you as an individual.

I may share ideas or feedback from our work together to support others and to communicate about the work I do. If I do, I will always do this anonymously, unless you give explicit permission to provide accompanying information that could identify you.

You can find out more in my privacy notice here. If there’s anything you’re not sure of, we can talk it through in our intro call.

    • I have an MSc in Psychological Sciences from UCL. My research thesis centred around applying a psychotherapy technique in a coaching context.

    • I also hold an ICF-Accredited Diploma in Transformational Coaching

    • I have an ICF-Accredited Certificate in Group Coaching

    • As a coach, I adhere to the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF’s) Code of Ethics.

  • Yes. Just let me know if this is the case, and make sure your therapist is happy for you to have coaching at the same time.

If you’re not sure which is right for you, we can explore that together on our intro call.

If you have a question that’s not covered here, please feel free to email me at heather@mindandco.co.uk, or book a free coaching intro call.

“The coaching has helped me into a new career and helped me to focus into what I really want. You have a gentle approach to probing and helping me think in more depth about the issues I’m exploring.”

“Heather provides such an open space to talk through things. She is patient and gives you the encouragement to explore things. I feel lighter since speaking with her.”

“She completely puts you at ease and has an amazing ability to make sense of what can feel like confusing thoughts, then helping you navigate a route forwards.”

“When I started working with Heather, it became immediately apparent that I’d found something genuinely life-changing.”
